Der ${\displaystyle {}p}$-te Kreisteilungskörper wird nach Fakt von ${\displaystyle {}e^{2\pi {\mathrm {i} }/p}}$ erzeugt, er ist also isomorph zu ${\displaystyle {}\mathbb {Q} [X]/(P)}$, wobei ${\displaystyle {}P}$ das Minimalpolynom von ${\displaystyle {}e^{2\pi {\mathrm {i} }/p}}$ bezeichnet. Als Einheitswurzel ist ${\displaystyle {}e^{2\pi {\mathrm {i} }/p}}$ eine Nullstelle von ${\displaystyle {}X^{p}-1}$ und wegen ${\displaystyle {}e^{2\pi {\mathrm {i} }/p}\neq 1}$ ist ${\displaystyle {}e^{2\pi {\mathrm {i} }/p}}$ eine Nullstelle von ${\displaystyle {}X^{p-1}+X^{p-2}+\cdots +X^{1}+1}$. Das Polynom ${\displaystyle {}X^{p-1}+X^{p-2}+\cdots +X^{1}+1}$ ist irreduzibel nach Aufgabe und daher handelt es sich nach Fakt  (2) um das Minimalpolynom von ${\displaystyle {}e^{2\pi {\mathrm {i} }/p}}$.
