Parlamentswahl auf den Komoren 2015

Parlamentswahlen in den Komoren (Legislative elections) wurden am 25. Januar 2015 auf den Komoren durchgeführt, zusammen mit Kommunalwahlen. Am 22. Februar fand in den 21 Wahlkreisen, in denen im ersten Wahlgang kein Kandidat gewonnen hatte, ein zweiter Wahlgang statt.[1] Die Union pour le développement des Comores wurde zur größten Partei und gewann acht der 24 Sitze in der Unionsversammlung.

Hintergrund

Die Amtszeit der 2009 gewählten Versammlung der Union sollte im April 2014 auslaufen, wurde jedoch verlängert.[2] Die Wahlen waren ursprünglich für Anfang November 2014 geplant, doch im September kündigte Präsident Ikililou Dhoinine an, dass sie auf den 28. Dezember verschoben würden und die zweite Runde für den 1. Februar geplant sei.[2] Sie wurden später nochmals bis Januar 2015 verschoben.

Wahlsystem

Die 33 Mitglieder der Unionsversammlung wurden auf zwei Arten gewählt; 24 Mitglieder wurden direkt gewählt in Wahlkreisen mit einem Kandidaten im Stichwahl-System, während neun Mitglieder durch die Insel-Versammlungen gewählt wurden.[3]

Wahlkampf

Der Wahlkampf begann offiziell am 25. Dezember. 204 Kandidaten registrierten sich, um sich für die Unionsversammlungaufstellen zu lassen, während sich 353 Kandidaten für die Wahlen der Councils aufstellen ließen.[4]
