Definition. Gammafunktion.

Für $z\in \mathbb {C}$ mit $\mathrm {Re} (z)>0$ :

\Gamma (z):=\int _{0}^{\infty }t^{z-1}\mathrm {e} ^{-t}\,\mathrm {d} t.

Für $z\in \mathbb {C} \setminus \{0,-1,-2,\ldots \}$ :

\Gamma (z):=\lim _{n\to \infty }{\frac {n!\cdot n^{z}}{z\cdot (z+1)\cdot (z+2)\cdot \ldots \cdot (z+n)}},

oder äquivalent:

\Gamma (z):={\frac {\mathrm {e} ^{-\gamma z}}{z}}\prod _{n=1}^{\infty }{\Big (}1+{\frac {z}{n}}{\Big )}^{-1}\mathrm {e} ^{z/n},

oder äquivalent:

\Gamma (z):=\sum _{k=0}^{\infty }{\frac {(-1)^{k}}{k!\cdot (z+k)}}+\int _{1}^{\infty }t^{z-1}\mathrm {e} ^{-t}\,\mathrm {d} t.

Mit $\gamma$ ist die Euler-Mascheroni-Konstante gemeint.

Funktionalgleichung:

\Gamma (z+1)=z\cdot \Gamma (z).

Beziehung zur Fakultät:

n!=\Gamma (n+1).

Ergänzungssatz:

\Gamma (z)\cdot \Gamma (1-z)={\frac {\pi }{\sin(\pi z)}}.\qquad (z\in \mathbb {C} \setminus \mathbb {Z} )

Verdopplungsformel:
